Speeches & Editorials

One of the things that I do, in my capacity as an activist, is speak and write on behalf of issues and candidates that I support. Currently, the bulk of my attention and energy is devoted to ending the Iraq War. I believe that the war is a mistake, one that is costing, and will continue to cost, our beloved country dearly.

Some of the stuff that I write doesn’t lend itself well to the blogging format. Rather than clutter up the blog with stuff that most blog-oriented folks won’t read, I’ve decided to set this page up. If you’re interested, read on.

So you want me to speak…
If you read this stuff, you like it, and you decide that you’d like to have me come speak before your group, let me know. I can be reached by email at: rnoboa-at-gmail-dot-com. If you and your group are outside of the greater Denver area, that’s not a problem. My schedule allows me to be free most weekends, so all it takes for me to come visit your group is for my expenses to be covered. Those would be:

• Lodging. Got to have a place to crash. Anywhere’s fine, really–even a couch. I slept on a Hummvee’s hood for four months in Iraq; believe me, nothing fazes me after that.
• Travel. In order for me to speak before you, I have to get there. Doesn’t much matter how–planes, trains, automobiles, though anything outside Colorado will most likely entail planes.

• Food. Again, I’m not picky. I lived off MREs for a year, so food’s not something I’m picky about, as long as I know I’m getting some.

So, what do you get for all this? Well, a fiery speech, for starters. I’ll tell you about my experiences over there, and what we should do now based on that. You also get your group fired up. I’ll answer any questions you and your group may have, for as long as it takes. And if you’re using my appearance in order to drive up recruiting and/or donations for your group, I’ll throw in a plug for your outfit.

So you want me to write…

Like I said above, I also write. Not only do I write editorials, I also write speeches. I write all my own stuff. If you are a candidate for office, or working for one, and would like to have some speeches written for your use, please contact me at rnoboa-at-gmail-dot-com. I will need the following materials:

• A tape or .mp3 file on CD (I prefer CDs) of you or your candidate speaking, on a topic of your choosing. This helps me get a sense of how you or your candidate speaks, which helps me determine what kind of writing style to use for the speech.
• The topic. What’s the speech about? Is it an announcement speech? Is it a victory speech? Is it about patent law?
