It’s been a rough weekend and weekend. Lots of stuff going on the personal side with my family, much of which involved travelling hither & tither.
I was talking to my father about death (something that’s been hanging over my family, both in the past, and much more now), when I made the point:
You can’t die with dignity, you can only live with it.
All you can do, in the end, is lead your life with your head held high, with as much dignity as possible — so that, when the end comes, it doesn’t overwhelm everything that came before it.
There’s a quote, which I’ve featured above this post, that kind of makes the point again. Anyway, as I go over what’s happened over the weekend, and what awaits my family, I come back to that:
You can’t die with dignity, you can only live with dignity.
